Government to Citizen interaction using Open Souce software

Abstract

The session will present how we have developed and deployed the new site for the  Apache   Krysalis platform   PHP    PostgreSQL   Romanian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology  . The creation of the new site is meant to encourage the interaction between the Public Administration and the citizen (level 2 from the eGovernment concept), and we have used Open Source software to implement the portal: , , and the . Using the open platform, the Ministry can manage public information with ease, and transmit it to citizens through various channels (web, e-mail). The XML based approach from the Krysalis platform also allows future extensibility to the third level of e-Goverment - the transaction level.
