An OPen Source Implementation In Department of Navy

Abstract

PEO C4I and Space is implementing a pilot program which includes a Managed Open Source venue. We are planning on having software which we pay to have created to be developed on a distributed development site with access controls/configuration management and automated T&E. The software will be required to be delivered with unrestricted rights and be fully commented in source code form. This to us will be an enabling mechanism to have higher quality products, increase reuse and reduce development time.
