Abstract
Since 1998, the Apache Software Foundation has served as an intersection for programmers, and often the companies who pay their salaries, to collaborate around standards-driven server-side infrastructure software. What drew this group together? How do they make decisions, at both a code level and as an organization? Can it serve as a template for other groups looking for structure around their efforts, looking for ways to encourage corporate involvment? These questions and more will be explored. |
