Web Service Development for Electronic Healthcare Claims

Abstract

Future Perspectives Session: ComplyX Structured Information, Inc. has developed two XML-enabled  HIPAA   IBM's WebSphere   J2EE   PDF form products   XSLT   healthcare industry   for the : 1. ComplyX 1450 - An electronic form based on the current standard pdf form UB-92/CMS-1450 for healthcare claims by institutions (e.g., hospitals); 2. ComplyX 1500 - An electronic form based on the current standard pdf form CMS-1500 for healthcare claims by professionals (e.g., doctors). Each form will electronically export the filled-in data in Adobe's xfdf format (XML). Moreover, ComplyX has developed extensible stylesheets (XSL) for each form which transform the xfdf data using into X12N 837 EDI format, the standard effective October 2003. ComplyX is in the final stages of development using ( platform) to deploy the XSLT transformation function as a Web Service and expose the service for use by other computer applications, such as physician practice management software.
