Biographical Notes

Roger A. Maduro is a founder and managing director of Linux Infrastructure, LLC (LxIS), a company founded to help small and mid-sized businesses implement open source/Linux information technology solutions that meet the full range of their business requirements with more robust, reliable and secure solutions than the Microsoft-based solutions that have been available until now. Previously Mr. Maduro was Director of Systems Architecture at Winstar Telecommunications, Inc. In 1997 Mr. Maduro laid out a long-term IT strategy for Winstar that included the deployment of Linux in the enterprise. He built a team that carried out a series of projects between 1998 and 2001 and demonstrated the ability of Linux to meet the requirements of IT in the enterprise and its superiority to Windows. This included a corporate Intranet as well a file and print services for large buildings with hundreds ofusers.
