Biographical Notes

Neki Frasheri, born in 1952 in Tirana, Albania. Completed university studies in mathematics in 1976 at the University of Tirana. Worked on applications of mathematical methods, teaching on applied mathematics and computer sciences, and as system/network engineer. From 1993 is vice-director at the Institute of Informatics and Applied Mathematics (INIMA), Academy of Sciences of Albania. Working directions during last ten years include the impact of ICT in developing countries, presented in several international activities. Involved in the UNDP project for developing of ICT national strategy in Albania. Gudar Beqiraj, born in 1948 in Durres, Albania. Completed university studies in mathematics in 1971 at the University of Tirana. Worked on programming of applications and teaching of mathematical methods. From 1993 is director at the Institute of Informatics and Applied Mathematics (INIMA), Academy of Sciences of Albania. Working directions during last ten years include analysis and evaluation of concrete situations of the country related with the role of academic community, and definition of development strategies and practices necessary for sustainable activities of research institutions.
