Biographical Notes

Michael Engel started his information technology career in 1985 while serving in the United States Military Police Corps. He wrote his first useable database application while attached to the Army Criminal Investigation Division (CID) Drug Suppression Team in Heilbronn, Germany. Since then he has designed and implemented open source information systems and applications for a variety of local, and federal law enforcement agencies. His first total open source project was placed into use by a U. S. police agency in 1997. He recently completed a National Open Source project for the US Department of Justice - International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP) in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
