Kelly, Brian John Captain, Medical Corps Using EA to Improve Healthcare Delivery and Build Better Information SystemsBiographical NotesInformation Management, Technology & Reengineering Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Health Affairs)/ TRICARE Management Activity (TMA) Dr. Kelly is the Director of eBusiness, Policy and Standards for the Department of Defense (Health Affairs). He is responsible for developing the overall strategy and implementation plan for using the Internet to improve healthcare to the Department of Defense's 8.3 million beneficiaries. Dr. Kelly is responsible for developing the operational architecture and standards necessary to optimize system development and integration for DoD health care. He works closely with the system developers to find the best IT solution sets to support an integrated health care delivery system. In addition to his information management responsibilities, he continues to see patients as a neurologist and intensive care medicine specialist, and is an Associate Professor of Neurology and Medical Informatics at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. He continues to be active in graduate medical education and has received multiple teaching awards. Dr. Kelly received a Bachelor of Arts in Russian from Holy Cross College, a Masters in Science in Bioengineering degree from Clemson University, a Masters in Business Administration from George Washington University, and a Doctorate in Medicine from New York Medical College. He has completed the Federal Chief Information Officer program, as well as numerous graduate courses in information management and technology. |
